These children and ponies were all actors in film that was being shot locally. My husband, Tad, rode and acted in the movie with them as well. There were plenty of long days with beautiful scenery and a wonderful camaraderie among humans and horses alike. This painting was an attempt to capture that atmosphere. Tad and I have many fond memories of spending time with these youngsters and their ponies.
